Anne George (1927–2001) was an American author and Alabama's state poet who wrote the beloved Southern Sisters mystery series. A graduate of the University of Alabama, she taught English and creative writing for many years before finding success with her cosy mystery novels in the 1990s.
Murder Carries a Torch is part of her Southern Sisters series featuring the wonderfully contrasting Birmingham, Alabama sisters Patricia Anne and Mary Alice, whose adventures combine murder, Southern charm and laugh-out-loud comedy. George's writing is warm, funny and deeply rooted in the culture and character of the American South.
Her audiobooks and books are a delight for listeners who enjoy cosy mysteries with unforgettable characters, sharp wit and a generous helping of Southern hospitality.
