Antonio Di Benedetto (1922–1986) was an Argentine novelist and journalist, regarded as one of the most important Latin American writers of the twentieth century. His masterpiece Zama, now available as an audiobook, is a haunting existential novel about a colonial official in eighteenth-century South America waiting endlessly for a transfer that never comes. Di Benedetto's writing is spare, psychologically piercing and deeply original, and the audiobook is a remarkable literary listening experience.
