China Miéville is a British author who is one of the most acclaimed and inventive writers in speculative fiction. Born in Norwich in 1972, he has won the Arthur C. Clarke Award three times and the Hugo Award. He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics.
The City & The City is his genre-bending novel about two cities that occupy the same physical space but whose citizens must pretend the other does not exist — a brilliant, unsettling blend of noir detective fiction and speculative worldbuilding. The novel won the Hugo and World Fantasy Awards and was adapted for BBC television.
His audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers some of the most inventive, ambitious speculative fiction being written today — novels that reinvent what genre fiction can do.
