Cicely Hamilton (1872–1952) was a British feminist, writer, actress and suffragist. Her novel and audiobook William — an Englishman, which won the first Femina Vie Heureuse Prize in 1922, is a powerful, satirical story about a complacent middle-class Englishman whose comfortable beliefs are shattered by the realities of the First World War. Hamilton was a pioneering voice in women's rights and social critique, and her audiobook introduces modern listeners to a sharp, important and unjustly overlooked writer.
