Dominic Sandbrook
Author
Dominic Sandbrook is a British historian, author, columnist, and broadcaster whose popular histories of modern Britain have made him one of the country's most widely read historians. Born in 1974, he studied History at Oxford and the University of St Andrews and has taught at the University of Sheffield. He is a columnist for the Daily... Mail and co-hosts the hugely popular podcast The Rest Is History with Tom Holland. Sandbrook's major works include the multi-volume history of post-war Britain (Never Had It So Good, White Heat, State of Emergency, Seasons in the Sun, and Who Dares Wins), plus standalone histories. His Adventures in Time series makes history accessible to younger readers, with titles covering Alexander the Great, the Vikings, and other subjects. His writing combines deep research with vivid storytelling and a gift for capturing the texture of everyday life in the past. His audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers brilliantly entertaining popular history — books that bring the past to life with colour, personality, and the kind of storytelling that makes history as gripping as any novel.
