Author
Elizabeth George is an American author of British-set detective fiction whose Inspector Lynley novels are one of the longest-running and most acclaimed crime series in modern fiction. Born in Warren, Ohio, in 1949, she studied English at the University of California, Riverside, where she later earned her MA in Counseling/Psychology. She... taught English and creative writing for thirteen years before becoming a full-time novelist. The Inspector Lynley series follows the aristocratic Detective Inspector Thomas Lynley and his working-class partner Detective Sergeant Barbara Havers through complex cases set across Britain. A Banquet of Consequences continues the series with the psychological depth and intricate plotting that have been George's hallmarks. The novels have been adapted into a BBC television series. Despite being American, George has been praised by British readers and critics for the authenticity of her English settings and characters. Her audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers richly plotted, psychologically complex crime fiction with two of the most compelling detective partners in the genre — novels that reward patience with depth.
