Emily Hahn was an American journalist, author, and adventurer who lived one of the most extraordinary lives of the twentieth century. Born in St. Louis in 1905, she was the first woman to earn a mining engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin, lived in the Congo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, and wrote over fifty books and nearly two hundred articles for The New Yorker. China to Me is her memoir of life in wartime China and Hong Kong during the Japanese occupation. The audiobook brings her vivid, fearless storytelling to a new generation of listeners. Hahn died in 1997.
