Father Patrick Desbois is a French Roman Catholic priest, author and human rights activist who has devoted decades to documenting the Holocaust by Bullets, the systematic mass shootings of over two million Jews and others in Eastern Europe during the Second World War. The Holocaust by Bullets presents the findings of his organisation Yahad-In Unum, which has conducted extensive fieldwork across Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and other Eastern European countries, locating mass graves and recording the testimony of elderly witnesses who saw the killings as children. Desbois's work has revealed the vast scale of this often-overlooked aspect of the Holocaust and has contributed enormously to historical understanding and commemoration. He has been recognised with numerous awards for his humanitarian work and his contribution to Holocaust education. His audiobooks and books offer readers an essential and deeply moving account of one of the most devastating chapters in human history.
