Frederick Lewis Allen

Frederick Lewis Allen (1890–1954) was an American journalist and social historian. His book and audiobook Only Yesterday is a vivid, brilliantly readable account of the 1920s in America — the Jazz Age, Prohibition, the stock market boom and the crash of 1929 — that remains one of the best popular histories ever written. Allen's writing is witty, detailed and deeply engaging, and the audiobook is a wonderful listen for history fans.
