Fridtjof Nansen (1861–1930) was a Norwegian explorer, scientist, diplomat and Nobel Peace Prize laureate. His book and audiobook Farthest North is a classic of exploration literature, telling the epic story of his 1893–96 attempt to reach the North Pole by drifting across the Arctic Ocean in a specially built ship. Nansen's writing is vivid, scientifically detailed and full of extraordinary courage, and the audiobook is an essential listen for adventure and exploration enthusiasts.
