George Mallory was a British mountaineer famous for his attempts to climb Mount Everest in the 1920s. When asked why he wanted to climb Everest, he reportedly replied, 'Because it's there.' Letters From Everest collects his correspondence from his expeditions, edited by Tom Newton Dunn, offering an intimate portrait of the man behind the legend. The audiobook, read by Catherine Bailey and Seb Humphreys, brings Mallory's voice and the drama of early Everest exploration to life. Mallory died on Everest in 1924; his body was not found until 1999.
