Author
Hans Rosling was a Swedish physician, academic, statistician, and public speaker who dedicated his life to fighting global ignorance with facts. Born in Uppsala in 1948, he studied statistics and medicine, and spent years as a physician in Mozambique before becoming Professor of International Health at the Karolinska Institute in... Stockholm. He co-founded the Gapminder Foundation with his son Ola Rosling and daughter-in-law Anna Rosling Rönnlund. Rosling became famous for his electrifying TED talks, which used animated data visualisations to challenge audiences' outdated assumptions about global development. His talks have been viewed over thirty-five million times. His book Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World — and Why Things Are Better Than You Think, written with Ola and Anna, was published posthumously and became a global bestseller, recommended by Bill Gates, Barack Obama, and many others. Rosling died of pancreatic cancer in 2017, but Factfulness remains his enduring legacy. His audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers a compelling, data-driven argument that the world is much better than most people believe, providing intellectual tools for seeing reality more clearly.
