He is also one of the longest-serving team captains on the BBC panel show Have I Got News for You, making him one of the most recognisable faces in British comedy and journalism. Ian Hislop's Oldest Jokes is a witty exploration of the history of humour, tracing the oldest known jokes from ancient civilisations to the present day and examining what they reveal about human nature, social structures and the eternal human need to laugh. Hislop brings his characteristic combination of sharp intelligence, historical knowledge and dry wit to a subject that is both entertaining and surprisingly revealing. His audiobooks and books showcase one of Britain's sharpest and most knowledgeable commentators.
