Author

J.A. Andrews is a British author of psychological thrillers whose tense, carefully plotted novels have built a growing readership through digital-first publishing. Her books explore the dark undercurrents beneath ordinary lives with sharp plotting and mounting suspense. Based in Plymouth, Devon, Andrews turned to writing after careers... in accountancy and other fields. She is a keen gamer and has spoken about how her love of storytelling across different media informs her fiction. Behind Her Smile was her debut thriller, introducing her gift for creating unreliable narrators, domestic tension, and revelations that reframe everything the reader thought they knew. Her subsequent novels continue to explore the psychological thriller space, each built around the secrets, lies, and hidden motivations that simmer beneath the surface of seemingly normal relationships and communities. Andrews's novels are published through Hera Books and Canelo, digital-first imprints that have become home to some of the most exciting voices in British commercial fiction. Digital-first publishing has allowed writers like Andrews to build passionate readerships through competitive pricing, strong word-of-mouth, and the sheer addictiveness of their storytelling. She writes with a keen eye for psychological detail and a talent for creating characters whose motives are opaque until the final reveal. Her plots are tightly constructed, her pacing relentless, and her twists genuinely surprising. The audiobook editions of Andrews's thrillers are compulsive listening, perfect for anyone who loves domestic suspense with real psychological depth. Her books and audiobooks are ideal for thriller fans looking for fresh voices and stories that keep them guessing to the very last page. Read more Show less
