J A Baker

J.A. Baker was a British author best known for The Peregrine, one of the most extraordinary works of nature writing ever published. Written in the 1960s, the book is an obsessive, lyrical account of Baker's decade-long pursuit of peregrine falcons across the Essex countryside. With an introduction by Mark Cocker, an afterword by Robert Macfarlane, and narrated by David Attenborough and Dugald Bruce-Lockhart, this edition assembles some of the finest voices in British nature writing and broadcasting. His audiobooks and books are transcendent listening and reading — a masterpiece of observation, language, and devotion to the wild.
