J. Allen Hynek

J. Allen Hynek was an American astronomer and ufologist who served as scientific adviser to the U.S. Air Force's Project Blue Book, the official investigation into unidentified flying objects. The Hynek UFO Report presents his findings and analysis of thousands of UFO cases, and his classification system (close encounters of the first, second, and third kind) became part of popular culture. Hynek's audiobooks and books remain foundational texts in the study of UFO phenomena.
