Jack Vance

Jack Vance (1916–2013) was an American mystery, fantasy, and science fiction writer who won the Hugo, Nebula, and World Fantasy Awards. His Demon Princes series, of which The Book of Dreams is the final volume, is a space opera masterpiece. Vance was renowned for his ornate prose, imaginative world-building, and darkly witty storytelling.
