James Boswell

James Boswell was a Scottish biographer, diarist, and lawyer, born in 1740. He is best known for his monumental Life of Samuel Johnson, one of the greatest biographies in the English language. A Journey to the Western Islands of Scotland is his account of his tour of Scotland with Johnson. His audiobooks and books are classic listening and reading — vivid, observant, and full of the wit and detail that make Boswell one of literature's finest chroniclers.
