John Lucarotti was a Canadian-British television screenwriter best known for his work on the original Doctor Who series in the 1960s, where he wrote several highly regarded historical serials including Marco Polo, The Aztecs, and The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve. His novelisation Doctor Who: Marco Polo brings his original 1964 serial... to the page, telling the story of the Doctor's encounter with the great Venetian explorer on the Silk Road.
