Joseph Jacobs was an Australian-born British folklorist, literary critic, and historian who became one of the most important collectors of fairy tales in the English language. Born in Sydney in 1854, he moved to England and devoted much of his career to preserving the folk tales of the British Isles. His collections include English Fairy Tales, More English Fairy Tales, and Celtic Fairy Tales. Celtic Stories for Kids draws on his celebrated compilations of Celtic folklore, bringing ancient myths and legends to young audiences with vivid, accessible storytelling. Jacobs died in 1916. His audiobooks and books continue to introduce children and families to the rich storytelling traditions of the Celtic world.
