Laura Shepherd-Robinson is an award-winning British novelist who writes historical crime fiction set in eighteenth-century England. Born in Bristol in 1976, she holds a BSc in Politics from the University of Bristol, an MSc in Political Theory from the London School of Economics, and an MA in Creative Writing from City St. George's,... University of London. Before becoming a novelist, she worked in politics and for a charity. Her debut novel Blood & Sugar, set in 1781 and exploring the slave trade through a murder mystery on the Deptford docks, won the CWA Sapere Books Historical Dagger and was a Sunday Times bestseller.
