Mohammed Hanif is a Pakistani novelist, journalist and playwright who writes with savage wit about politics, military culture and power. He has worked as a journalist and headed the BBC Urdu service. A Case of Exploding Mangoes, available as an audiobook and book, is his darkly funny debut novel about the mysterious 1988 plane crash that killed Pakistan's president General Zia ul-Haq. Hanif's razor-sharp satire has made the novel a cult favourite among readers and listeners worldwide.
