Monica Dickens was a British novelist, journalist, and great-granddaughter of Charles Dickens who wrote more than forty books over a career spanning five decades. Her first novel, One Pair of Hands, was based on her experiences working as a cook and domestic servant, and she went on to write both literary fiction and popular novels, including Mariana. Dickens also founded the Samaritans in the United States. Her audiobooks offer listeners warmly observed, engaging fiction from a writer who combined literary pedigree with a gift for capturing everyday human experience.
