Nick Louth
Author
Nick Louth is a British author and former financial journalist whose crime thrillers have made him a million-selling author, known for meticulously researched, fast-paced stories that keep readers turning pages at speed. His DCI Craig Gillard series, in particular, has built a large and devoted readership. Louth grew up in Lincolnshire... and studied at the London School of Economics. He worked as a foreign correspondent for Reuters, reporting from New York, Amsterdam, London, and Hong Kong, covering financial markets, politics, and international crises. He later became a freelance financial journalist, writing for the Financial Times, Investors Chronicle, and other publications. His article "Making Sense of Chaos" won the UK Chartered Financial Analysts Society article of the year award in 2014. Bite (2007) was his first thriller, self-published before becoming an Amazon number one bestseller in 2014 and being translated into six languages. Inspired by an experience at a 1992 Amsterdam medical conference, it launched his fiction career. The DCI Craig Gillard series, beginning with The Body in the Marsh (2017) and published by Canelo, follows a Surrey detective through complex investigations that cut close to his own family. The series has grown to include numerous titles and has cemented Louth's reputation as one of the most reliable and compelling voices in British crime fiction. He has also written the Detective Jan Talantire series, set in Devon and Cornwall. Louth writes with a journalist's instinct for pace and detail and a thriller writer's gift for tension and surprise. His novels are tightly plotted, grounded in realistic settings, and driven by characters who feel genuinely human. The audiobook editions of Louth's thrillers are gripping and compulsive. His books and audiobooks are essential for crime fiction fans who love procedural thrillers with authentic detail and relentless pace. Read more Show less
