Philomena Cunk is the fictional creation of British comedian Diane Morgan — a blissfully ignorant documentary presenter whose deadpan misunderstanding of absolutely everything has made her one of the funniest characters on British television. Created for Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe, Cunk went on to star in Cunk on Britain and the Netflix hit Cunk on Earth, interviewing bewildered real academics about history, science, and culture while getting everything magnificently wrong.
Cunk on Everything is the companion book to the television series, offering Philomena's unique perspective on the entirety of human civilisation — from the Big Bang to Brexit — filtered through a mind that has never let ignorance stand in the way of strong opinions. The book was written by Jason Hazeley and Joel Morris (the team behind the Ladybird Books for Grown-Ups series).
The audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers a gloriously stupid journey through human history from a character who makes you laugh while accidentally making you think — comedy that works because the ignorance is so perfectly, lovingly crafted.
