Raven Kennedy

Author

Raven Kennedy is an international bestselling fantasy romance author whose Plated Prisoner series became a BookTok sensation and one of the most commercially successful fantasy romance series of the 2020s. Kennedy is a bestselling author whose love for books pushed her into creating her own worlds. She writes dark adult fantasy romance... that combines fairy tale reimaginings with complex emotional storytelling and romantic tension. The Plated Prisoner series — Gild (2020), Glint (2021), Gleam (2021), Glow (2022), Gold (2023), and Goldfinch (2024) — reimagines the myth of King Midas through a dark fantasy lens. The series follows Auren, the gold-touched woman kept as King Midas's favoured consort, who gradually realises her true worth and power. The series has sold over six million copies worldwide, been published in more than twenty countries, and became a New York Times, USA Today, and Sunday Times bestseller. Kennedy's strength is building richly detailed fantasy worlds while keeping the emotional and romantic core of her stories intensely compelling. Her characters undergo genuine transformation, and the series' exploration of captivity, autonomy, and self-discovery gives it depth beyond the romance. The BookTok phenomenon drove enormous word-of-mouth success for the series, but the books' lasting popularity is down to Kennedy's storytelling ability — she writes fantasy romance that is both emotionally satisfying and genuinely unpredictable. The audiobook editions of the Plated Prisoner series are hugely popular and immersive. Kennedy's books and audiobooks are essential for fans of dark fantasy romance, fairy tale retellings, and BookTok's biggest hits. Read more Show less
