Richard Morgan
Author
Richard Morgan is a British science fiction and fantasy author whose visceral, noir-inflected fiction has earned him a devoted following and critical acclaim. Born in Norwich in 1965, he studied History at Queens' College, Cambridge, and taught English as a foreign language in various countries before becoming a full-time... writer. Morgan's debut novel Altered Carbon introduced Takeshi Kovacs, an ex-soldier in a future where human consciousness can be digitised and transferred between bodies, making death a temporary inconvenience for the wealthy. The novel won the Philip K. Dick Award and was adapted into a Netflix series. The Kovacs trilogy continues with Broken Angels and Woken Furies. He has also written the fantasy series A Land Fit for Heroes and the novel Thin Air. His fiction is known for its unflinching violence, its political edge, and its noir sensibility. His audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers hard-edged, intellectually ambitious science fiction where the technology is dazzling but the human darkness is what really drives the story.
