Rosamunde Pilcher was one of Britain's most beloved novelists, whose warm, emotionally rich stories of family, love, and landscape captivated millions of readers worldwide. Born in Lelant, Cornwall, in 1924, she grew up by the sea and served in the Women's Royal Naval Service during World War II.
