Rose Allatini was a British-Italian novelist and poet who wrote under various pen names in the early twentieth century. Despised and Rejected, published in 1918 under the name A.T. Fitzroy, was a groundbreaking novel addressing both pacifism and homosexuality during World War I. It was banned under wartime censorship. Available as an audiobook and book, the novel has been rediscovered as an important early work of queer literature for readers and listeners.
