Seamus Heaney was an Irish poet, playwright, translator, and Nobel laureate. Born in County Derry, Northern Ireland, in 1939, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest poets of the twentieth century. He won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1995.
100 Poems is a selection of his finest work — spanning his entire career from Death of a Naturalist to his final collection Human Chain. Heaney's poetry draws on the landscape, history, and language of Ireland to explore universal themes of memory, identity, loss, and love. He is one of the most read and most loved poets in the English language.
Heaney died in 2013. His audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers the work of one of the greatest poets of our time — verse that finds the extraordinary in the earth beneath our feet.
