Siya Kolisi is a South African rugby union player who made history as the first Black captain of the South African national rugby team, the Springboks. Under his captaincy, the Springboks won the Rugby World Cup in both 2019 and 2023, with the 2019 victory carrying enormous symbolic significance for a post-apartheid South Africa. Kolisi grew up in poverty in the township of Zwide before rising to become one of the most important figures in South African sport. His memoir Rise tells his extraordinary story. His audiobooks and books are inspiring for listeners and readers who enjoy stories of overcoming adversity through determination and leadership.
