Spike Jones

Spike Jones (1911-1965) was an American musician, bandleader and comedian who led the City Slickers, a novelty band famous for their anarchic, hilarious musical parodies. Jones and his band turned popular songs and classical music into uproarious comedy performances, using cowbells, gunshots, car horns and every imaginable sound effect. He was one of the most popular entertainers in America during the 1940s and 1950s. His audiobooks preserve the manic energy and brilliant comedy of his radio shows, offering listeners a joyful taste of one of comedy's most inventive performers.
