Stephen Graham Jones is a Blackfeet author who is one of the most prolific and acclaimed horror and speculative fiction writers in America. Born in Midland, Texas, in 1972, he grew up in West Texas, holds a PhD from Florida State University, and is a professor in the Creative Writing programme at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Jones has published over thirty novels and collections across horror, literary fiction, and science fiction. His breakthrough novel The Only Good Indians — about four Native American men haunted by a mistake from their youth — won the Bram Stoker Award, the Shirley Jackson Award, and the Ray Bradbury Prize. My Heart Is a Chainsaw and its sequels (Don't Fear the Reaper and The Angel of Indian Lake) form a horror trilogy that uses slasher film mythology to explore Indigenous identity, class, and survival in a small Idaho lake town.
His audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers horror fiction of extraordinary depth and power — scary, smart, and deeply rooted in Indigenous experience, from a writer who understands that the genre's best monsters are always metaphors.
