Tasha Suri is a British-Indian fantasy author whose richly imagined fiction draws on South Asian history, mythology, and culture. Born in London, she studied English and Creative Writing at Warwick University and holds an MA in Eighteenth-Century Studies from King's College London. She works as a librarian. Suri's debut novel Empire of... Sand, inspired by Mughal India, follows a woman with magical abilities who is trapped in a political marriage and must use her forbidden power to save her people. The Books of Ambha duology (Empire of Sand and Realm of Ash) was widely praised. Her Burning Kingdoms trilogy — The Jasmine Throne, The Oleander Sword, and The Citadel of Forgotten Myths — is an epic fantasy inspired by the history and mythology of India. She won the World Fantasy Award and the British Fantasy Award.
