Thornton Wilder

Thornton Wilder was an American novelist and playwright who won three Pulitzer Prizes — one for fiction and two for drama. The Bridge of San Luis Rey, available as an audiobook and book, won the Pulitzer Prize in 1928. The novel examines the lives of five people who die when a rope bridge collapses in eighteenth-century Peru, asking the fundamental question of whether there is meaning in death. Wilder's elegant, philosophical storytelling continues to move readers and listeners.
