Tony Parsons is a British novelist and journalist who became one of the UK's bestselling crime writers with his DC Max Wolfe series. Born in Romford, Essex, in 1953, he left school at sixteen and began his career as a music journalist at NME during the punk era, where he and his then-wife Julie Burchill became known as the enfants... terribles of rock writing. Parsons transitioned to mainstream journalism and bestselling fiction with Man and Boy, a novel about a single father that won the Book of the Year Award and sold over a million copies. He followed it with several more family-focused novels before launching the DC Max Wolfe crime series, beginning with The Murder Bag. The series, which includes #taken, follows a detective at a London murder squad, and has sold millions of copies worldwide.
