Winnie M Li is a Taiwanese-American author, activist, and academic whose work explores themes of power, vulnerability, and the systems that enable harm. She is a lecturer in creative writing at the University of Leeds and a campaigner for survivors of sexual violence, drawing on her own experience as a survivor to inform both her... advocacy and her fiction. Her novel Complicit examines the culture of complicity that enables abuse within the entertainment industry, following characters caught up in the machinery of power, ambition, and silence that protects predators. Written with insider knowledge from Li's own career in film and the arts, the novel is both a gripping thriller and a sharp critique of institutional failure. Li is also the author of Dark Chapter, a novel based on her own experience of sexual assault, which won the Not the Booker Prize and was longlisted for several other awards. She founded the Clear Lines Festival, a platform for arts and discussion around sexual assault and consent, and has spoken and written extensively about survivors' experiences. Her books are available as both print editions and audiobooks, with the audiobook editions bringing her urgent, character-driven narratives to listeners.
