Charlton Heston

Charlton Heston was an American actor who was one of the biggest stars in Hollywood from the 1950s to the 1970s. Born John Charles Carter in Evanston, Illinois in 1923, he is best known for his roles in epic films including Ben-Hur (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor), The Ten Commandments, and Planet of the Apes. He served as president of the Screen Actors Guild and was a prominent political figure in his later years. He died in 2008.
