Emilia Fox

Emilia Fox is a British actress best known for her long-running role as forensic pathologist Dr Nikki Alexander in the BBC series Silent Witness, which she has played since 2004. Born into one of Britain's most prominent acting dynasties — daughter of Edward Fox and Joanna David, niece of James Fox — she trained at the Oxford School of Drama. Fox's television credits extend well beyond Silent Witness. She has appeared in The Pianoplayers, Rebecca, Merlin, Delicious, and The Trial of Christine Keeler. On stage, she has performed at the National Theatre and in the West End, demonstrating the classical training that runs in her family. Her film work includes Dorian Gray, Cashback, The Chalk Garden, and Possession. She is also an accomplished presenter and has narrated documentary programmes. As an audiobook narrator, Fox brings a warm, clear, and beautifully modulated voice that is instantly engaging. Her years of sustained performance in Silent Witness have given her exceptional stamina for long-form narration, and her classical acting background provides the technical foundations for convincing multi-character work. Fox is particularly effective with crime fiction, thriller, and literary drama — genres that benefit from her ability to maintain tension and emotional subtlety over extended listening. Her narration style is professional without being clinical, and warm without being overly familiar. Coming from a family where acting excellence is the baseline, Emilia Fox brings a quality of effortless professionalism to her audiobook work that reflects both natural talent and deep craft. For listeners who enjoy polished, engaging narration from a familiar and trusted voice, Emilia Fox is consistently excellent.
