Lin-Manuel Miranda is an American composer, lyricist, actor, and playwright who created the Broadway musicals In the Heights and Hamilton. Born in New York City in 1980, Hamilton became a cultural phenomenon, winning eleven Tony Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and a Grammy Award. Miranda has also composed songs for Disney films... including Moana and Encanto, and received Academy Award nominations for his work. He was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship and a Kennedy Center Honor.
