Rachel Shabi

Rachel Shabi is a British-Iraqi journalist and author who writes about politics, race, and the Middle East. Off-White examines race, identity, and belonging for people who exist outside the simple Black-white binary — including those of Middle Eastern, North African, and mixed heritage — exploring how they navigate race in Britain and beyond. Shabi draws on personal experience and rigorous reporting. Her audiobook and book is thought-provoking listening and reading for anyone interested in race, identity, and the complex realities of belonging that don't fit neatly into established categories.
