What to expect

And then two bodies turn up, horribly murdered, in Chelsea, and the Queen finds herself unwillingly used as the alibi for somebody very close to her.
Elizabeth knows she can't face these challenges alone. She needs support from someone clever, discreet and loyal, someone she can trust. Then she meets ex-Bletchley Park code breaker, Joan McGraw, and their investigation into the murders begins in earnest . . .

Another very entertaining tour-de-force by S.J.Bennett about "Miss Marple with a tiara". Great cast of characters and an interesting plot lightly based on real happenings and people in the 1950s mingled with MI5 and post-war intrigue. Great 1950s atmosphere. Added bonus of an authors summary at the end and a podcast. Can't wait for the next, and fifth, story in this series. Author talks about the rivetting story of Miss Dior, Christan Dior's resistance worker sister; itself a good read. And a book by Kate Vigors called Mission France, about female resistance workers in France during the war. Am now on a mission myself to locate a copy of that book. Add in vignette visitations of people like Daphne du Maurier all of which make this a fascinating and entertaining read.
