The incredible true story of the French Resistance plot to destroy the Atlantic Wall in Normandy, dramatised in six parts for BBC Radio
Adapted from Richard Collier’s 1958 novel Ten Thousand Eyes, this riveting vintage drama by Robert Barr tells the story of the heroes and heroines of the French Resistance, ordinary townspeople who risked torture and death to help free their country from Nazi Germany’s yoke.
It’s May 1942, and in Caen, Normandy, a group of courageous men and women band together to fight back against the Nazi occupation of their city. When one of their number discovers and steals the top-secret blueprints for the construction of the Atlantic Wall – a vast network of concrete, steel and guns that will stretch across the coastline of Western Europe – they must do their utmost to ensure the plans reach British intelligence in London. History hangs in the balance, for the success of D-Day may depend upon their actions...
Garard Green stars as the Storyteller, with an ensemble cast including Frederick Treves, John Gabriel, Victor Lewis, Eva Stuart and Lewis Stringer.
