The antics of Andre made national news more than once and this is the complete story of his life with the Goodridges. His love for the Goodridge family was so strong that he swam from Connecticut to Maine every spring to be with them again. The personal introduction and afterword by Toni Goodridge adds a unique flavor to the recording.
Critics Review
-
“Seven-year-old Toni Goodrich tells how Andre, the Maine harbor seal, becomes part of the Goodrich family's life. With Andre now glamorized (and betrayed) by Hollywood, the original story may appeal to youngsters who savor the simpler version of Andre’s life. Rachel Sieben projects the high, bubbly voice of the little girl as she tells of Andre’s antics and escapades. Her enthusiasm never lags, and the performance reflects a child’s glee, as well as sadness…the charm of the tale survives.”
