Synopsis
It's a wet and blustery day outside, but inside the old shop, Bagpuss and his friends are warm and busy. As the rain patters on the window, Madeleine, Gabriel, Professor Yaffle and the mice from the Marvellous Mechanical Mouse Organ find ways to turn a grey afternoon into something quietly magical. Originally published as a picture book by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin, Bagpuss on a Rainy Day is now released for the very first time as a gentle, immersive audiobook. With narration by Oliver Postgate and beautifully restored archive audio, this short story captures the warmth, wit, and handcrafted charm of the original Smallfilms world. Ideal for screen-free family listening, bedtime, and quiet afternoons indoors, this comforting tale is part of the official Bagpuss audiobook series from Framewood Media — released during the 50th anniversary of Bagpuss (1975–2025) and in Oliver Postgate's 100th year.
