What to expect

What Is the Function of Thought? Public Talk • Brockwood Park, 1975 In this penetrating public talk, J. Krishnamurti explores the nature, purpose and limitations of thought. Thought is essential for practical knowledge, communication and everyday action, but what happens when it enters the psychological realm? Krishnamurti examines how thought, rooted in memory and past experience, creates fear, conflict, division and the image of the self. He asks whether thought can ever bring about complete understanding, or whether there is a different quality of perception beyond analysis and intellectual conclusion. A profound enquiry into memory, knowledge, consciousness and the possibility of intelligence that is not limited by thought.
