Caveflower

Synopsis

As a little Roma girl, Dariana is abandoned by her mother and ends up in a children's home – until her uncle comes to collect her and promises her a better life. Instead, a nightmare begins: poverty, beatings, forced labor, and finally being sold into a forced marriage. Years of slavery, violence, and humiliation follow. But Dariana does not give up. With indomitable willpower she fights her way free, flees, and begins a new life – amid wild love affairs, dangerous men, war, Switzerland, and a fresh start in Germany. She marries, becomes a mother, loses and finds again, and tirelessly searches for what was denied her as a child: safety, dignity, and love. "Caveflower" is the unsparing, true autobiography of a woman who endured the inhuman and still remained strong. A story of betrayal and survival, of the deepest darkness and the unshakable belief that even from the deepest cave one can find the way back to the light. For everyone who wants to know how much strength a human being can hold – and that the truth is sometimes more incredible than any invention.
