Clangers - Chicken

Synopsis

Welcome to the whimsical world of the Clangers, a family of pink mouse-like creatures who dwell on a mysterious blue planet deep in space. Let's meet the inhabitants of this craggy yet charming world. Major Clanger is the father of the family, forever inventing all kinds of curious contraptions. Mother Clanger tends to their home with steady kindness and a comforting nature. Small Clanger, their adventurous son, is eager to explore and make marvellous discoveries, though his curiosity sometimes leads him into mischief. Tiny Clanger, the youngest, has a generous spirit and embraces everyone she meets with open arms. Alongside the Clangers live their friends: the Soup Dragon and her playful Baby Dragon, who live deep underground and provide the Clangers with delicious green soup; the Iron Chicken, the Music Trees, the Froglets, and the gentle Hoots. When unexpected debris from outer space crashes onto their peaceful planet, the Clangers explore these strange arrivals with curiosity and wonder. While shooting off fireworks, the Clangers accidentally hit an Iron Chicken flying in space. The family quickly collects the scattered pieces to reconstruct the shambles of the metallic stranger. Once assembled, the Iron Chicken begins to wreak havoc on the Clangers' planet. Tiny Clanger demonstrates compassion by giving her a lovely necklace explaining how she should behave. The Iron Chicken responds by giving Tiny an iron egg and flies away to her nest. Through generosity and kindness, the Clangers make a new friend. These Clangers audiobooks offer a rare opportunity to experience a quiet kind of magic—one where every whistle tells a story, and every crater holds a lesson in friendship, generosity, or wonder. As the Soup Dragon bubbles up her green soup and Tiny and Small venture across their musical world, listeners of all ages are invited to slow down and listen. This special audiobook edition of The Clangers has been produced from the original audio recordings by Oliver Postgate, and carefully adapted for a new generation of listeners by Framewood Media Ltd.
