What to expect

"It is quite possible that the time will come when literary historians, discussing works created in English in the twentieth century, will only briefly dwell on the works of serious writers, and all attention will be focused on the extensive and diverse staging of detective stories.. And then they will have to answer first, which explains the unheard-of popularity of this genre." This, perhaps contradictory, but remarkable statement belongs to the critic of detective fiction, the famous English writer William Somerset Maugham. What could be more exciting and interesting than a well-written detective story? The audiobook is read by American actor Brent Bradley in English. Content: 1. Jacques Futrelle. The Phantom Motor 2. Gelett Burgess. The Denton Boudoir Mystery 3. Melville Davisson Post. Naboth's Vineyard 4. Jack London. The Leopard Man's Story 5. Suzan Glaspell. A Jury of Her Peers
