I loved this book. The pace, detail and fully rounded characters were enjoyable enough; add to that an ingenious but (sadly) credible plot and you’ve got a real winner.
The film adaptation of Jane Harper’s The Dry encouraged me to try this book and now I’m going to buy the novel preceding Exiles.

The narrator is excellent too.
